About this Recipe

By: Christina Hills

I have been making this recipe for many years just by following the directions on the back of the can, but doubling the spices.  However, the company changed the recipe, so I decided to record my version of this here.  I like the Farmers Market Foods organic pumpkin cans, but you can really use any can of pumpkin.

  • 1 can Organic Pumpkin 15 oz
  • 1 3/4 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 can 14 oz of sweeteened condensed milk
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1 9" Deep Dish Pie Shell

  • Follow instructions on frozen pie shell to pre-heat the crust first.
  • Mix pumpkin and spices together
  • Add remaining filling ingredients and mix slowly just unil thoroughly mixed.
  • Pour into pie shell
  • Bake at 425 deg for 15 min
  • Reduce temp to 350 Deg and continue to bake for an additional 35-40 min.
  • Cool pie completely before serving

Prepping the pie shell can take some time.  If you are good at making crusts, by all means make a home made crust.  Otherwise you have to factor in the time to thaw and pre-cook the pie crust.
